We, yes, we are our own benefactors or executioners for what did in our past lives shapes our next incarnations in human body. If we are kind and generous, we can expect good live, but if we harmed others or killed, we can expect painful life and we will inflict upon us all kind of painful disabilities. It does not matter if we were punished by law of the country or our cruel deeds escaped the eye of the law - we will punish ourselves for harm we inflicted on others in our next life.
